When people see the term ‘Nutritional therapy’ they immediately think that it’s about eating better for weight loss, or being put on a special diet for a specific condition, but it is much more than that.
When you have an illness such as arthritis, Fibromyalgia, diabetes and many more, a nutritional therapist will look into your medical history via a long form that you will fill in, and aim to work out why you have the condition, that is what is worked on, treat the cause and the condition’s symptoms will lessen and may even go away. If you have a few pounds to lose, that will happen too.
It is a lifestyle change because you have to be prepared to change the way you think about life and food. Your illness may not be food related, it may be genetic or brought on by traumas that you may have been through, but food choices may be making things worse. Together we can work out the best course of action to help you to have a better quality of life.

Nutritional Therapy
Jac Guyton qualified as a Nutritional therapist (NT) with the institute for Optimal Nutrition in 2020. She is BANT and CNHC registered with full insurances.
Jac is our health care worker who has been through a lot of trauma in life but always kept her passion for living and has been determined to let nothing get in her way. Her background supporting what she does now, is in Nursing and support teaching at special needs schools before opening The Unity Centre. She was diagnosed with Myalgic Enchephelomylits (ME) plus PTSD in 2007 but wouldn’t accept that there was nothing that could be done for her continued illnesses, so she decided to research until she found help. That came in the form of NT. She really didn’t think it would help, so was extremely pleased that it did, it gave her, her life back. But what really surprised her, was the difference it made to her son on the autistic spectrum, he started to be more alert and his main problems with autism noticeably faded. This is the reason she decided to train to help those who couldn’t afford to visit an NT. She knows how hard the journey to wellness can be and wants to support others in their own journeys. We will be holding Weekly talks about the body and how diet and lifestyle can help. Each week will be a different topic, ie digestion, depression, anxieties and specific conditions. We will ask people what they would like us to talk about and hold talks on preferred topics. If people would the like a personalised consultation, we will offer 2 free consultations which would usually cost £85, if any further consultations are required, they will come at a cost of £25 each. Along with the consultations, the offer includes monthly free 15 minutes updates with Jac via an appointment. This can be in person, via video chat or a phone call. There is an option to have consultation notes via audio if you are not comfortable with reading them. One of the most common reasons people who want to change their diet and lifestyle, tell us that they give up quickly, is because they find it uneconomical to buy healthy organic foods for one. For this reason we are setting up our food boxes. The idea is that we will put in the boxes a little of what people want that is enough for one person. Ie a few carrots, cabbage and kale, these will be no more than £2 each. This eliminates wastage and enables you to have organic fresh vegetables, fruit or salad. This will also enable our service users to have another skill to train in because they can help to make the boxes up as people ask for them.
