March 21st - 25th National Lottery open Week. Woohoo, this is going to be a fun week. If you play the national lottery or buy scratch cards of theirs, you will be able to join in our activities for free all week and come to our party on the Monday evening and get free teas and coffees. Because of your ticket purchases, we are able to apply for grants to carry on our great Unity life, so like a lot of other organizations, we are saying thank you. All you need to do is turn up and show us a lottery ticket or scratch card. We also will be holding an open afternoon on Monday 21st for people to view some of our activities in action. The weeks itinerary will be:-
The Centre will be closed in the morning of 21st and will be opening at 12pm
1pm karaoke, 2pm Bang & Crash demo, 2.30 Groove demo, 3pm art cafe demo, 3.30 Nutritional and wellbeing services info, 4pm BBQ food on sale, 5pm party begins.
Tuesday Morning karaoke with Col and Carol. Come along and request a song, we have access to thousands of backing tracks so there’s a really good chance your favourite will be there. We schedule to finish at 12.30 but often go on a lot longer.
Wednesday Bang & Crash 10am-12pm with Jacs and Lou. Come and join our gang for music fun, we have done many performances in Lowestoft as well as the London Palladium and The Royal Albert Hall as part of The Music Man Project . At some point we are hoping to return to these venues.
Thursday am, is mental health morning with Jacs & Toni, we relax and do whatever everyone feels like on the day, this may be activites, sorting out donations or just relaxing and chatting. It’s all in aid of getting some quality time together in a relaxed way and feeling supported.
Thursday 1.30-2.30 Groove dance movement with Jacs. You don’t have to be a dancer to Groove, just someone who loves to dance. This requires booking as space is limited. If more people book than there is space for, we will hold another free session the following week.
Friday 9am-12pm Art Cafe with Lorenzo & Col. You can join in with the humour and support in our very popular art session. Art materials are provided.
Friday 1pm-3.30pm Arts and crafts with Lou, this usually entails making decorations for the next party, in this case it will be Easter.

Woohooo, here we are, myself and Lou with our ten Bangers & Crashers who are taking part in the Music Man Project show at The London Palladium on Sunday 15th October 2017.
The gang have been working really hard every Wednesday afternoon for the past 18 months to learn all the songs. It hasn't been easy for them as we have had to learn it from videos from either the last show, Southend Mencap rehearsal videos or video we have taken from When the music man himself Mr David Stanley, has come along to teach us, but they did it and we couldn't be more proud. Some of the gang are getting a little nervous now, it is a huge adventure for them, many have not travelled far outside our area and only one of them has performed on a big stage before. Thank you to all that have supported us by donating to help fund the coach to get us there, donations of instruments and coming along to fundraisers. Your support has been truly appreciated. We had a wonderful surprise in that The Waveney Project have paid for the coach on the understanding that the money we raised for it will go toward the coach trip to our next big performance. Another big thank you goes out to A Piece of Cake, who are kindly donating packed lunches for everyone as it will be a long day and no time to go out and find food.
