Art Cafe
Every Friday we run Art cafe in the main social area. This is free activity for vulnerable adults although if you want to do glass or fabric painting, this is £2. We welcome people who are not vulnerable for whom there is a small charge of £3.50. Sessions times are 9,30am – 12pm and come under our expressions activities.
With funding we are able to have local artist Lorenzo Barron take the session with his unique and friendly personality, he has the ability to make any none artist, produce some great work....take it from me who has never been able to draw, I produced something that I still can't believe came from my own fair hands! He will set a theme each week and show you how to achieve it. If you want to come along but don't want to take part in the theme, he will still help you to achieve what you would like to.
There are plenty of art materials and paper to use and if Lorenzo isn't there, many others who come weekly, are willing to help you. If you want to bring your own art materials and get help with how to create a master piece, this is ok too.
In the warmer weather, we take our creative passions outside to different locations to create masterpieces from our natural surroundings.
Our budding artists help fundraise by selling some of their art work at the Centre on our special wall designated for this purpose. 20% of sales goes to the Centre, you can keep the rest.

This is a wonderful centre page spread article from our Lorenzo in the Ferini gallery magazine, highlighting the passion and emotions that he felt when painting this piece of art. I am sure you will agree about the depths of his passion when you read the article. We are very proud to have him as part of our team, where he inspires many people to be creative, express their inner feelings and achieve work that we put on display so that they can be as proud of themselves as he is of them. Lorenzo’s dedication to others creativity can’t be explained, you have to take part so that you can ‘feel’ the experience too.
Art & Crafts
Arts and crafts primarily runs on a Friday afternoon 1pm-3.30pm, occasionally the creativity happens on a Wednesday afternoon too. These sessions are when our Lou gets creative with people and makes decorations for the upcoming party’s. This is a free activity and anyone can join in, you don’t have to be creative, there’s people to lend a hand in supporting you. We have an endless supply of materials to use and the afternoon is full of fun. The arts and crafts can be models of things, paintings, invitation cards or costumes because most of our parties have a theme. We also occasionally make up sweet bags for sale from donated sweets.
If you have any unwanted craft materials that you would like to donate, or if you would like to volunteer to lend a hand, we’d be very grateful.
